The Story Behind La Pelle

Hello, I’m Rebecca, the founder of La Pelle.

Creativity has always been a part of my life. I was fortunate to grow up surrounded by artistic inspiration, with my earliest influence being my grandmother, whose incredible ability to paint and draw continued well into her 90s. Having a father who worked as a tattoo artist also opened my eyes from an early age to the artistry of self-expression, body modification and the idea that we can each be our own canvas.

Although my love for drawing and creativity was always there, it remained quietly in the background until I discovered semi-permanent makeup for myself. That experience reignited a passion I had almost forgotten and opened my eyes to the possibility of combining artistry with helping others feel confident and happy.

A deeply personal moment became the catalyst for my journey into this industry. When someone close to me was diagnosed with an illness that could potentially result in hair loss, I began to understand just how much features such as eyebrows can impact confidence and identity. The thought that I could use my creativity and skills to support someone through a challenging time filled me with a sense of purpose. What began as a difficult moment became the inspiration behind something truly meaningful.

With encouragement from my mum to follow my heart, my educational journey began. I immersed myself in learning the foundations of Permanent makeup, including human biology, colour theory, skin understanding and advanced application techniques. My commitment to continued education allows me to provide safe, considered and bespoke treatments for every client.

Why La Pelle?

As a child, I was lucky enough to visit Italy many times — a country that captured my heart through its breath-taking landscapes, incredible food, beautiful people and unforgettable language.

Our skin is our canvas, and it felt fitting to name my business after this in a language that holds so many special memories for me. La Pelle translates from Italian as “the skin” — the foundation on which every treatment begins.

At La Pelle, my aim is to help you look and feel your personal best through personalised cosmetic tattooing and beauty treatments. Every service is thoughtfully designed around you, your features and your individual goals.
